A Mother’s Strength: Fatima’s Journey Toward Hope and Independence

In a small rented house in Kart-e-Naw, Kabul, Fatima, a brave mother, works hard every day to support her family. Her husband, struggling with addiction, has been gone for almost a year, leaving her alone to care for their three young children. The youngest is just three months old and depends on her completely, but she has no money or even basic supplies to provide for them.

Fatima also looks after her two younger brothers-in-law, who lost their parents. One of them, a 13-year-old boy, has taken on a heavy responsibility—he walks the streets of Kabul selling plastic bags to earn a little money for food. While his strength makes Fatima proud, it also saddens her deeply. No child should have to face such hardships.

Their living situation is desperate. They haven’t paid rent in three months, so the landlord cut off their water. They live in a cold, dark house, with the threat of eviction hanging over them. During the winter the struggled and faced many hardships. When neighbors cook warm meals, Fatima’s children watch, wishing for even a simple hot dish—a painful reminder of their struggles.

But there is still hope. Fatima knows how to sew—a skill that could change her life if she had the right tools. With a sewing machine, she could work from home, earn money, and rely less on others for help. More than just a machine, it would give her dignity, independence, and a chance to build a better future for her family. Thanks to your generous donations, the HBT team identified her needs and provided her with a sewing machine, along with a food package.

How You Can Help ?

The HBT organization helps women like Fatima by supporting them in finding ways to earn a living. Through our Winter Aid Campaign, we provided warm clothes, fuel, and other essentials to families in need. But we can do more—with your help, we can give sewing machines to mothers like Fatima, allowing them to work and support their families.

Thanks to kind donations, Fatima recently received a sewing machine, tools, and food supplies. This support is already making a difference. Now, she can start sewing, earn an income, and take the first steps toward a stable life.

Every Donation Makes a Difference

A single sewing machine doesn’t just help one person—it changes a whole family’s future. It gives a mother the chance to stand on her own, protects children from hardship, and brings hope where there was none before.

Your support can bring warmth, security, and opportunity to women in need. Join us in helping mothers like Fatima. No matter the size, your donation changes lives. Together, we can create a better future. Donate today by following this link and be part of Fatima’s journey toward hope.
